WHAT IS THE LITERACY PROGRAM?
The Delta County Adult Literacy Program (DCALP) serves residents
of Delta County 16 years and older through the Delta County Public
Library District. We provide small-group instruction in the following
areas: English as a Second Language (ESL); Literacy Skills; GED
and Pre-GED; and Job Skills/Life Skills.
HOW MUCH DO CLASSES COST?
We charge an annual fee of $20-25 for our classes.
WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT SCHEDULE?
Our classes run in eight-week sessions. For information or to register
for our next session, please contact the office at 872-3396.
HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR CLASSES OR TUTORING?
You must be at least 16 years old and a resident of Delta County.
DOES THE PROGRAM PROVIDE TUTORING FOR SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN?
The program currently offers classes and tutoring only to adult
students (16 and up). However, we are partners with Delta County
School District J50 in the Migrant Education Even Start (MEES) program,
which combines English-language instruction, parenting education,
early childhood education, and tutoring for migrant families in
Delta. For more information about MEES and family literacy, please
call the Literacy Coordinator at 872-3396.
